ROLLIN L. LEEZER

Rollin LeezerRollin L. Leezer, 84, of Lewistown died at 5:28 a.m. Sept. 24, 2010, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Schuyler County, a son of Wallace S. and Esther V. Green Leezer. He married Mildred Bishop on Dec. 17, 1950, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Marilyn (and Ed) Duvall of Morton; one brother, Richard (and Carol) Leezer of Cuba; two sisters, Ada Wilson of Canton and Betty Strong of Macomb; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one infant brother.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1.

He worked as a miner for almost 40 years, last employed at Buckheart Mine and retiring from there in 1986.

He was a member of Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown, where he served as a deacon and trustee.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Ray Greenfield officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by his VFW and American Legion Posts.
