WALTER BURRELL LANE

Walter Lane

Walter Burrell Lane, 74, of Springfield, formerly of Peoria, died Oct. 17, 2006, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Browning, a son of Floyd and Lucille McCausland Lane. He married Donna J. Curless on Dec. 19, 1954. She survives.

Surviving are one daughter, Rhonda (and Kevin) Spellacy of Southington, Conn.; one brother, William Callahan of Browning; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bradley B. Lane, on Oct. 16, 2006.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean era.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a car salesman for Guiffre Buick, where he served as used car manager. He formerly worked at Heritage Buick in Peoria as both sales and general manager.

Joint services for him and his son were held Oct. 19 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. Jeff Blevins officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Association or Western Oaks Baptist Church.
