Donald G. Lundeen, 75, of Madison, Wis., formerly of Ipava, died at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2001, at University Hospital-Madison in Madison.

He was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Roseville, a son of Arthur and Esther Lundeen. He married Dorla Burgard on June 6, 1948, in Mason City.

He later married Alice Ellis on April 28, 1984. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Gregory of Vermont, and Jeffrey of Syracuse, Utah; three daughters, Beverly (and Lowell) Herrick of Cambridge, Gretchen (and Ben) Fawcett of Ipava and Jamie (and Terry) Conover of Cuba; two stepsons, Jim Ellis of Brookfield, Wis., and Kylie Ellis of Milwaukee, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Brown of Roseville; and one brother, Dale of Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

A World War II Navy veteran, he served in the South Pacific. He was a past commander of Ipava American Legion Post 17 and a past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001 in Lewistown.

He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1984.

Cremation has been accorded, and graveside services with burial of ashes will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Ipava Cemetery, with Damien Spikereit officiating. Military honors will be accorded. Family and friends will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at Ipava American Legion Post 17. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava is in charge of arrangements.
