Sammy G. Lidwell, 64, of Ipava, died at 11:17 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 1996, at Macomb.

He was born Feb. 8, 1932, in St. David, a son of John and Nancy Renfro Lidwell. He married Carol Baumgartner.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Lidwell Towery of Peoria and Doug Lidwell of Macomb; two daughters, Susan Taffar of Canton and Samantha Lidwell of Macomb; three grandchildren; four brothers, Ed Lidwell of Lewistown, Joe Lidwell of Peoria, Dale Lidwell of Canton and Jack Randall of Peoria; three sisters, Mrs. Rosalie Maxwell of St. David, Connie Slater and Sybil Lidwell of Canton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

He was employed by International Harvester Company as a Shop Foreman and Union Steward. He retired in 1976 with 24 years of service. He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1950. He was a Navy Korean Conflict veteran, a member of Ipava Presbyterian Church, VFW 1004 of Canton, Past President of Bryant School Board, the Ipava Village Board, Ipava Fire Dept., former mayor of Ipava, and was an elder of the Ipava Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Jerry Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Lions Club hearing impaired fund.
