Andrew Larson Of Havana Dies

Andrew Larson Jr., 71, of rural Havana died at 7:06 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 1990, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born May 24, 1918, in Havana, a son of Andrew N. and Harriet E. Hendricker Larson Sr. He married NellyMae Thompson on Dec. 10, 1938, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Stephen A. Larson of Westfield, N.J.; four daughters, Ruth Ann Combites and Gretchen Golden, both of Havana, Karen Norheim of Indianapolis, Ind., and Debra Larson of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; one brother, David Larson of Havana; and six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Felleson of Belview, Minn., Mrs. Esther Lindsay and Mrs. Lillian Roberts, both of Havana, Mrs. Nelda Smith of Kilbourne, Mrs. Dorothy Bryant of Milligan College, Tenn., and Mrs. Thelma Stevenson of Ipava.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He was a trustee and chairman of the elders of Havana Church of Christ, Vacation Bible School director, chairman of the church board, teacher of the Homebuilders Bible Class, and a Shepherd of the Church.

A farmer, he was a member of the Mason County Farm Bureau and the Mason County Board of Supervisors.

He was president of Laurel Hill Cemetery Association and a trustee at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary. He was a former member of the Dieffenbacher School Board and a charter member of the Christian Nursing Home Board in Lincoln.

He also was a charter member of Havana Church of Christ, where services will be at 10 a.m. today with Rev. David Upchurch officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or Lincoln Christian College.
