VeteranJohn W. Lee Dies In Hospital

John W. Lee, 78, of Rushville, formerly of Orangeville and Ipava, died at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 1986, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Dec. 8, 1907, in Ipava, the son of William and Margaret (Notman) Lee. He married Gertrude Burington. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include one stepson, Chuck Nicks of Orangeville; two step-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Melba Karg of Lombard, Mrs. Annabel McMullen of Macomb, Mrs. Margaret Herriford and Mrs. Kathryn Kirkpatrick, both of Ipava.

Three brothers also preceded him in death.

A retired naval officer, he was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

Private services were held at Shawgo Memorial Home, Ipava. Burial was in Orangeville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Rushville American Legion Post.
