Ora W. Litchfield Dies In Moline

Mrs. Ora W. Litchfield, 93, of 2404 1st St., Coal Valley, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 1984, at Moline Public Hospital.

She was born at Astoria on Oct. 10, 1891, a daughter of William Frederick and Martha McLaren Haffner. She was married to Rev. Clarence Litchfield in Canton in November of 1916. He preceded her in death on Mar. 22, 1952.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha White of Coal Valley and Shirley Harrison of Albany, Ore.; two sons, Eugene of Macomb and Charles of Moline; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Russell; three sisters, Bessie Wright, Clela Danner and Nellie Leib.

Mrs. Litchfield was a clerk at Desaulniers and Co. in Moline, retiring in 1958. Her husband had been minister of the First United Presbyterian Church of Coal Valley and the Beulah Presbyterian Church at Orion. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Valley Chapter 272, Order of Eastern Star, Coal Valley; Rock Island County Home Bureau; the Adult Bible Class at her church; and Sociable Seniors, Coal Valley.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at her church in Coal Valley with Rev. Robert K. Walker, minister of pastoral visitation at First Federated Church in Peoria, officiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery at Orion.

Valley Chapter 274, Order of Eastern Star of Coal Valley, conducted memorial services at 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home in Coal Valley.
