HAZEL (DANNER) LONG

Mrs. Hazel Long Dies At Age 88

Mrs. Hazel Long, 88, of Astoria, died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1977, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 11, 1889, in Woodland Township, a daughter of Jonas L. and Nellie B. David Danner. She was married to Dr. J. P. Long on Mar. 19, 1910. He preceded her in death.

Her only survivors are a nephew, Ralph Lewis Danner of Astoria, and a niece, Mrs. Annalee Sims of Allenspark, Colo.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Julia Margaret, on Oct. 16, 1949. The last of her family, she was preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle, and two brothers, Ralph and Roy.

She was a member of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church of Astoria.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the National Arthritis Foundation.
