Richard Lindsey Of Canton Dies

Funeral services were held Saturday for Richard E. Lindsey, 79, who died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, in his home at 823 East Pine, Canton. Rev. William H. Beauchat officiated at the 2 p.m. services in the East Side Church of the Nazarene with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Born March 24, 1891, in Summum, he was the son of Robert and Rosella (Brown) Lindsey, and on Aug. 5, 1912, in Lewistown, he married Ida Loveland who survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hollenback and Mrs. Beverly Lane, both of Canton, Mrs. Louis Wilcoxen and Mrs. Catherine Wilcoxen, both of Farmington; four sons, Charles Lindsey of Girard, Donald Lindsey, Junior Lindsey, and Billy Lindsey, all of Canton; 26 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Edna Shaver of Macomb, Mrs. Mamie Stewart of Lewistown, and Mrs. Hannah Fike of Canton. One son, five brothers, and two sisters died earlier.

Lindsey retired in 1956 from International Harvester Co. and was a member of the East Side Church of the Nazarene.
