Mamie Stewart, 97, of Creve Coeur, formerly of Lewistown, died at 7:07 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 1996, at her home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1899 at rural Summum, a daughter of Robert and Rosella Brown Lindsey. She married Perry A. Stewart on June 23, 1918 at Lewistown. He died Jan. 9, 1979. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Margaret) Holmes of Creve Coeur with whom she made her home; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown and the Christian Womens Fellowship of her church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at her church with Rev. Barbara Short officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.
