She was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Canton, a daughter of Earl and Gladys Conrad Flynn. She married William R. Kost on April 6, 1947, in Canton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2006.
Surviving are one son, Jodie (and Robbin) Kost of Canton; one sister, Lila Williams of Canton; three grandchildren, Connie Freund of Newark, Del., Cathy (and Matt) Derry of Canton and Jeff (and Christina) Kost of Avon, Ind.; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Flynn; and one sister, Mary Brown.
She retired from Canton School District #66, where she worked in the cafeteria. She also worked at S.S. Kresge in Canton, and for Flynn Building Materials in Canton.
A graveside service was held in the Astoria Cemetery on Sunday with Pastor Penny Frame officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to the Fulton County Humane Society in Canton.
