Bob KerrCharles Robert “Bob” Kerr, 68, of Pekin, formerly of Rushville, died at 8 a.m. Sept. 10, 2015, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Rushville, a son of Charles J. and Irene Chapdelaine Kerr. He married Susan Anderson on Nov. 28, 1992, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeremy (and Ashtin) Kerr of Rushville; one daughter, Jenny (and Kalib) Jackson of Rushville; two brothers, James (and Barb) Kerr and Thomas (and Terri) Kerr, both of Rushville; two sisters, Mary (and Ed) Davis and Elaine (and Todd) Boyd, both of Rushville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Alexander Joseph Kerr.

He graduated from Rushville High School and was in the Air Force stationed in Minnesota and Frankfort Germany.

He was employed in maintenance for Illinois Department of Natural Resources from 1986-2011.

He and his wife raised and cared for more than 40 foster children.

He was a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and a dog breeder.

A Celebration of Life will be held next month in Pekin. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the Township Hall, 420 Elizabeth St. (corner of 5th and Elizabeth streets) in Pekin. (Entrance on 5th Street side of building).

Memorials may be made to Schramm Educational Center in Pekin. Join family and friends for lunch, and bring stories of Bob to share.
