She was born March 16, 1924, in Webster, Iowa, a daughter of Ralph and Annie Settles Ewing. She married Max Scott King on Nov. 25, 1945, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2003.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Ronald King; four brothers, Glen, Don, Bill and Jim Ewing; and three sisters, Jane Black, Mildred Walters and Mary Engelhardt.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice J. (and Michael) Brainer of Barnhardt, Mo., and Linda (and Howard) King Schechter of Shrewsbury, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Esther Circle.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
