James C. Kling, 60, of Knoxville, died at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 1995, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Farmington, a son of Clarence and Flossie Kling. He married Annie B. Bybee on Oct. 25, 1958, in Rock Island. She died June 9, 1993. Three brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his mother of Pinckneyville; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Melody) Wallace of Peoria Heights; one son, Gary of Yates City; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Joel (Sharon) Leonardson of Naperville, Mrs. Larry (Joyce) Webb of Dahinda and Mrs. David (Rama) Hodam of Bettendorf, Iowa; one stepson, Larry James of Washington, D.C.; four sisters, Kate Barr of Bloomington, Susie Fishburn of Galesburg, Elsie Anderson of Arkansas and Mary Moats of Canton; six brothers, Charles of Middlegrove, Mike of Astoria, David of Pinckneyville, Jerry of Galesburg, Doug of Farmington and Dean of Ransom; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

A member of Teamsters Local 627, he was a truck driver for 27 years, retiring in January 1995 from Maytag Corp. in Galesburg. He also managed several properties in the Galesburg and Knoxville areas. He attended East Galesburg Community Chapel in East Galesburg. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Funeral services were held this morning at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville with Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.
