Margaret Kottmer Of Moline Dies

Margaret A. “Peggy” (Brock) Kottmer, age 44, of 1022 42 Street, Moline, Ill., died Saturday, July 28, 1990 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1945 in Ipava, a daughter of James and Elsie Menees of Silvis. She married Joseph A. Kottmer on Sept. 24, 1969 in Rock Island. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Lara) Miller of Milan and Mrs. Douglas (Deanne) Reese of Jacksonville; one son, Jody A. Kottmer at home; one stepson, Joey Vinar of Alpha; three granddaughters, Erica and Emily Reese and Brittainy Kottmer; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Jan Brock of Silvis; three brothers, Larry Brock of Somonauk, Chuck Brock of Laurinburg, N. Car., and Don Brock of Andalusia.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Moline. She was an avid bowler and was interested in auto racing. She enjoyed traveling and ceramics and especially enjoyed being with family and friends. She had been employed as a slicer and packer for Oscar Mayer Co. in Davenport, last employed in 1981 after 13 years with the company. She was currently employed as a reporter for Hawkeye Racing News of Vinton, Iowa.

Funeral services were to be today at 11 a.m. at the Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd. in Moline with burial in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Moline.
