Perry Kays, 58, Of Beardstown, Dies

Perry Kays, 58, of 1121 Clay St., Beardstown, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Tuesday night, Dec. 25, 1979.

He was born Apr. 15, 1921, in Beardstown, the son of Kamy K. and Nellie Fisher Kays. On May 3, 1944, he was married to Kathryn Wessel. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Judith Degitz of Astoria and Mrs. Mary Crisman of Beardstown; two sons, Richard and Michael, both of Beardstown; five grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; two aunts; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown. He worked as a brakeman for the Burlington-Northern Railroad and was a member of the Burlington Trainmen U.T.U.

Funeral mass was given at St. Alexius Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday with Father William Maul and Father John Sheahan of Springfield in charge. Burial was in St. Alexius Cemetery.
