Death From Apoplexy

Frank L. Kidd died suddenly Saturday morning about 8:30 o’clock. His death occurred in the yard at the home of Mrs. John Lutz at northwest corner of the park, where he was at work mowing the lawn. The immediate cause of his death was due to apoplexy, according to the verdict of the coroner’s jury.

Franklin L. Kidd was born in Astoria township August 4, 1861, and at the time of his death he was 58 years, 10 months and 29 days old. He has spent the greater part of his life here.

About twenty years ago he was married to Miss Iva Blass and to this union four children were born three of whom died in infancy. One son, Bernard, of Galesburg, Ill., lives to mourn the loss of his father. The surviving relatives include three sisters, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home of his sister, Miss Amanda Kidd in the north part of town, Monday morning at ten o’clock in the presence of a company of neighbors and friends, Rev. L. A. Crown having charge of the services. Interment was made in the Astoria cemetery.
