CALEB W. “BILL” JOCKISCH

Caleb W. “Bill” Jockisch, 72, of Lewistown died at 4:50 p.m. Nov. 21, 2008, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Canton.

He was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Waterford Township, a son of August W. and Eva Eileen Bennett Jockisch. He first married Harriet Eggleston. He later married Linda Ewing on Oct. 5, 1974, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Caleb W. (and Sherri) Jockisch Jr. of Lewistown and Brian Jockisch of Illinois; two daughters, Angela (and Lonnie) Burgess of Canton and Amanda S. (and Les Cozart) Jockisch of Lewistown; two stepsons, Chad E. (and Melana) Ewing of Bentonville, Ark., and Brett A. Ewing of St. David; one brother, Carl (and Marie) Jockisch of Cuba; one sister, Betty (and Roger) Clifford of Richmond, Va.; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Lynette Bucy; two brothers, Lee and Charles Jockisch; and one infant sister.

He was a veteran and served in the Illinois Air National Guard.

He was a graduate of VIT High School Class of 1954. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for six years, then at International Harvester Canton Works, retiring after 22 years. He also farmed most of his life.
He was of Nazarene faith.

He was a member of Harold C. Hoopes American Legion Post 17 in Ipava.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waterford Union Church at rural Lewistown with Pastor Deb Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery in rural Lewistown with a military service conducted by his American Legion post. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
