Russell D. Johnson, 89, of Astoria, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born July 5, 1908, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Noah A. and Lucy A. Danner Johnson. He married Florine Talbert on Jan. 10, 1929, in Canton. She died Oct. 26, 1997. Also preceding him in death were one son, Herschel Dale Johnson, and one brother, Orval Johnson.
Surviving are several cousins.
He was a farmer. He was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Clifford Parry officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
