CLIFFORD VERN JOCKISCH

Clifford Jockisch

Clifford Vern Jockisch, 73, of rural Rushville died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995, at his residence.

He was born April 2, 1922, in Cass County, a son of George Henry and Grace Emma Grant Jockisch. He married Rosemary Turner on April 7, 1941, in Cass County. She died June 23, 1974. One son, Clifford Grant, one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Vivian Akin of Rushville; four sons, Robert of Florida, Ronald of St. Augustine, Daryle of Vermont and Clyde of Rushville; three sisters, Dollie Krohe and Irene DeSollar, both of Beardstown, and Viola Wankel of Florida; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer. He also worked for Oscar Mayer Co. in Beardstown for many years. He was a member of Black Oak Church in rural Beardstown. He also attended Versailles Nazarene Church, where he served as Sunday School superintendent and treasurer for many years.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Bethel Church of the Nazarene near Arenzville with Rev. Dean Spencer officiating. Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Jockisch Cemetery near Arenzville.

Memorials may be made to Jockisch Cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
