She was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Beardstown, the daughter of Cleon Alexius Wells and Mariam Jaunita Fortney. She married Lowell Keith Higgins on April 27, 1973, in Virginia, Ill. He died Jan. 14, 2016.
Surviving are four sons, Kenny Moore and Larry Moore, both of Vienna, Matthew Higgins of Kansas City, Mo., and Adam Higgins of Quincy; two brothers, William Wells and Gene Wells; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Wells and Ronald Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackburn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday until time of service.
