He was born July 17, 1943, in Moline, a son of Clifford and Margaret McCormick Hopping.
Surviving are two sisters, Donna (and Jerry) VanOpdorp of Atkinson and Ilene Bearce of Macomb; two brothers, Leroy Hopping of Quincy and Chuck Hopping of Industry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Gary Hopping; and one sister, Sue Taylor.
He farmed for Bruketta’s in Table Grove since the 1960s.
A service was held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Cremation rites were accorded after the service.
