Ray Hamm

Ray HammRay F. Hamm, 88, of Ipava died at 2:55 a.m. Nov. 20, 2020, at Havana Health Care Center in Havana.

He was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Chatham, the son of Charles and Alice Fahs Hamm. He married Barbara Derry in January, 1955, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Daniel (and Becky) Hamm and Douglas (and Teresa) Hamm, both of Astoria, and Jerry (and Eileen) Hamm of Chicago; one daughter, Sally (and Steve) Lovett of Hiawatha, Iowa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Batterton and Ruth Danner.

He was a farmer. He also worked for International Harvester in Canton during several winters.

He was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren.

A graveside service was held Sunday in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor Lisa Fike and Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
