She was born July 21, 1931, in Marietta, a daughter of Floyd and Leta Little Brown. She married Melvin “Bud” Haney. He is deceased. She later married Bobby Jo Hays.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly; and one infant brother.
Surviving are one daughter, Norma; Beverly’s two children, Lia Hays (and Kwan) Kim of California and Elijah Hays of Macomb; one sister, Viva June Zuspann of Georgia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Walnut Grove and moved to Macomb. Then later moved to Adair, where she and Bud opened Haney’s Grocery Store.
She worked at Haney’s Grocery in Adair, McDonough District Hospital, Bushnell Vet Clinic and was a homemaker.
Private graveside services were held at the Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
