William Henry Hawkshaw Jr., 83, of Rushville died at 3 p.m. May 5, 2017, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.
He was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Beardstown. He married Betty Clapton on May 26, 1962, at Cheltenham Register Office in England. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2013.
Surviving are one brother, Donald Hawkshaw of Birch Tree, Mo.; eight stepdaughters, Margaret, Dorothy, DeDe, Rosemary, Annette, Coral, Cindy and Natlee; and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David; and one stepdaughter, Janet.
He worked at USAF Base in England and at Oscar Mayer for 18 years until retirement.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow with Military Rites by a U.S. Air Force Honors Detail and Meredosia American Legion Post #516. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
