She was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Cheltenham, Glos-Shire, England, a daughter of Edward Charles and Rosinia Mary Ann Bond Clapton.
She married William H. "Billy" Hawkshaw on May 26, 1962, in Cheltenham, England. He survives.
Also surviving are eight daughters, Margaret, Dorothy, DeDe, Rosemary, Annette, Coral, Cindy and Natlee; two brothers; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet; three brothers; and two sisters.
She worked at United States Air Force Base nine years in Boise Norton Oxon, England. She became a Naturalized Citizen when she came to the United States on Aug. 5, 1966. She then worked at Culbertson Memorial Hospital from September 1967 until retiring in May 1983.
Graveside services were held Friday in Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia with Rev. Larry DeSha officiating.
