Betty HercheBetty D. Herche, 80, of Rushville died at 2:30 a.m. May 16, 2016, at Bickford Cottage in Macomb.

She was born Dec. 26, 1935, in McDonough County, east of Industry, a daughter of Elva and Inez Miller Robinson. She married Lee O’Neal Herche on June 14, 1953, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2007.

Surviving are three daughters, Shara (and Don) Fagan of Rushville, Robin Herche of Boise, Idaho, and Nena (and Tom) Martin of Industry; one sister, Norma Toland of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Scott and Marjorie Aten.

She graduated from Rushville High School in 1953. She worked for Stephens Sally Shop, Moreland and Devitt Drug Store and she was the first lady bus driver for Schuyler Community Unit District #1. She worked with her husband on the farm.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church where she served on numerous committees. She served on the Soil and Water Conservation Board and volunteered for the Blood Mobile.

Private family inurnment will be on the family lot in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at her church with Rev. Grant Armstrong officiating.
