Lee HercheLee O’Neal Herche, 76, of Rushville died at 5 p.m. June 28, 2007, at the Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

He was born June 13, 1931, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler County, a son of Lewis and Emma O’Neal Herche. He married Betty Robinson on June 14, 1953, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Shara (and Don) Fagan of Rushville, Robin Herche of Boise, Idaho, and Nena (and Tom) Martin of Littleton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil.

He was a lifelong Schuyler County farmer.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Ninety and Nine Methodist Men’s Group of Rushville.

He was a 4-H leader, and served on the board of directors for Rushville Farmers Elevator and Schuyler/Brown FS for 21 years. He also served on the Two Rivers Regional Council for elected officials, CAA board of directors, and the Rushville Township and Schuyler County boards.

Services were held Monday at his church. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
