NINA H. (ROSE) HOWE

Nina Howe

Nina HoweNina H. Howe, 95, of Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba, formerly of rural Lewistown, died at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 13, 2009, at the nursing home.

She was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Astoria, a daughter of Samuel and Flossie Farwell Rose. She married Charles S. “Cy” Howe on March 14, 1937, in Astoria. He died Feb. 15, 2008.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers.

Surviving are four sons, Warren (and Linda) Howe of Knoxville, Larry Howe of Springfield, Ohio, Terry (and Sydney) Howe of Cedarcreek, Mo., and David (and Judi) Howe of Lewistown; one brother, Stanley (and Connie) Rose of Morton; one sister, Meryle Briney of Macomb; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

She and her husband farmed for many years in the Lewistown area.

She was a member of Pacemakers 4-H Club and Lewistown Presbyterian Church Quilters Club.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Ellen Dodd officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
