Eleanor M. Hazzard, 89, of Lewistown died at 4:20 a.m. Aug. 3, 2008, at Prairieview Care Center.
She was born July 29, 1919, in rural Lewistown, the daughter of Arthur and Nell Bordner Miles. She married Carl A. Hazzard on July 29, 1939, in Lewistown. He died May 24, 2000.
She also was preceded in death by three brothers.
Surviving are one son, Gary D. “Butch” Hazzard of Springfield; one daughter, Janelle Hazzard; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker. She also had been a cook at Lewistown Grade School and formerly the co-owner of M&H Shop.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown and active in their Dorcas group. Other memberships include the Rebecca Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Lewistown VFW and Lewistown American Legion ladies auxiliary, and a charter member and past president of the Business and Professional Women of Lewistown.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. There will be no visitation. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
