Phillip Howell

Phillip M. Howell, 95, of Ipava died at 6:05 a.m. Nov. 13, 2007, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Marshall D. and Alice LaRue Howell. He married Mary Kathryn Siders on Oct. 1, 1936, in Peoria. She died Feb. 5, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Ann Bromett, Josephine Grafmeyer, Margaret Prickett and Lela Porter; and one brother, Myron Howell.

Surviving are four daughters, Phillis (and Larry) Brock of Meridian, Miss., Charlotte (and Ron) Reynolds of Pawnee, Theresa (and Rodney) Keefauver of Ipava and Michelle (and Denny) Wherley of Table Grove; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Ipava area, retiring in his 80’s, and a trucker.

He was past president of Ipava Elevator Board; and Ipava United Presbyterian Church, where he served as trustee.

Services were held Saturday at his church with Rev. William Bodamer officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
