WILLIAM ROBERT HAMILTON

W. Robert Hamilton

W. Robert Hamilton, 78, of Macomb, died at 8:04 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 1996, at McDonough District Hospital.

He was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Bardolph, the son of John and Ellen Harris Hamilton. He married Dorothy DeWeese on March 9, 1941, in McDonough County. She survives.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Mildred) Butler of Astoria and Mrs. Stanley (Anabel) Soper of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A farmer, he was a former member of the McDonough County Farm Bureau Board. He attended the University of Illinois. He was a 4-H leader and a Macomb Township trustee. He was a former president of the Bardolph Cemetery Board. He served on the McDonough County Telephone Cooperative Board and McDonough District Hospital Board. He was a member of Macomb Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Quincy. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Skinner officiating. Burial was in Bardolph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the McDonough County Red Cross Transportation Fund.
