Maurice Lyle “Morey” Harvey, 77, of Clinton, formerly of Peoria, died at 6:52 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 1996, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

He was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Riggston, a son of Lewis and Emma Hayes Harvey. He married Margaret Davis in 1942 in Peoria. She died in 1959. He later married Viola Ruth Strohkirch in 1960. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Theodore Harvey of Franklin and Bill Davis of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Beverly Mankey of Lincoln and Sandra Salmans of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Clarence of Astoria and Kenneth of Charleston, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.

One son and one brother preceded him in death.

He worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville for 23 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Wapella Christian Church in Wapella. He was a former member of Daytona Christian Church in Daytona Beach, Fla., for 23 years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial was in Heyworth Cemetery in Heyworth. Military rites were conducted.
