Clarence Harvey

Clarence Harvey, 87, of Astoria, died at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at Passavant Hospital emergency room in Jacksonville.

Born Sept. 19, 1909 in Riggston to Louis and Emma Hayes Harvey, he married Lorraine Horton on Jan. 11, 1975 in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, James Shaver of Peoria; one daughter, Marrian Schmidgall of Bellevue; one brother, Warren K. of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a salesman for Sears, Roebuck and Co., retiring in 1959. He was a member of Astoria Church of Christ.

His body was donated to science. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at his church. Collis Trone will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Shawgo Memorial Home.
