Richard W. “Dick” Hamm, 81, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Rushville, died at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1995, at the Community Hospice in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born Oct. 5, 1913 in Vermont to Perry Floyd and Laura Miler Hamm. He married Beulah Gamill Jan. 14, 1939 in Keokuk, Ia. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia Lovekamp of Rushville and Dorothy Kay Elliott of Good Hope; two sons, Harry F. Hamm of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Robert Hamm of Auburn; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one brother, Perry F. Hamm of Macomb; three sisters, Loreta Poehls of Peoria, Vivian Lenix of Carthage and Betty Mosley of Faris.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He owned and operated the Hamm Welding Shop in Rushville for many years until retiring. He was a member of Rushville Moose Lodge #506 and attended the First Christian Church in Rushville.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Rutter officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
