EVA E. (COOPER) HORWEDEL

Eva Horwedel

Eva E. Horwedel, 79, of Ipava, died at 11:28 a.m. Monday, March 6, 1995, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Aug. 21, 1915, in LaHarpe, the daughter of John H. and Nora E. Faulkner Cooper. She married Robert Edwin Horwedel on Feb. 13, 1931, in LaHarpe. He died June 24, 1964. She also was preceded in death by one son, David, two grandchildren and seven brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Larry G. Horwedel of Minneapolis and Ron J. Horwedel of Petersburg; three daughters, Shirley Ann Horwedel of Ipava, Roberta Batterton of Urbana, Ohio, and Jenna Sue Thomas of Peoria; 18 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

She worked for 20 years at Roddis Grocery and then Blair Grocery in Ipava. She was a member of LaHarpe Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava Fire Department or Ipava Rescue Squad.
