David Horwedel Dies At Age 49

David Henry “Hank” Horwedel, 49, died Friday, July 20, 1990, on a riverboat in Convent, La. He was a riverboat pilot.

Survivors include his wife Linda; his mother, Eva Horwedel of Ipava; four sons, Robert Edwin Horwedel of Yazoo City, David Henry Horwedel Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Brian Horwedel of Germany and Michael Horwedel of Table Grove; two daughters, Eva Ann Berg of Rock Island, and Michelle Horwedel of Table Grove; stepson, Paul Douglas Helms Jr. of Yazoo City; stepdaughters, Paula Kay Helms of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas and Nancy Michelle Hogan of Yazoo City; two brothers, Larry Horwedel of Minneapolis and Ronnie Horwedel of Springfield; three sisters, Shirley Horwedel of Ipava, Roberta Ballerton of Eubana, Ohio and Jennie Sue Thomas of Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Horwedel was a native of Ipava. He was a pilot for Augusta Barge Line.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, 1990 at Stricklin-King Funeral Home, Yazoo City. Burial was in Cypress Gardens Cemetery.
