Harold W. Humphrey, 101, of Astoria, died at 9:53 p.m. Monday, Mar. 12, 1985, at the Astoria Healthcare Center where he had resided the past several years. He was a retired farmer.
He was born Mar. 17, 1883, at Kenney, Ill., a son of William Andrew and Anna Elizabeth (Borders) Humphrey. On Dec. 25, 1920, he married Grace F. Garton in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 1962.
Surviving are one son, A. O. Humphrey of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Trowbridge of East Peoria; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at Shawgo’s with family visitation one hour before the services on Thursday.
