Mrs. Mary L. Hendee, 87, of Ipava died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 1980, at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born Oct. 27, 1892, in Fulton County, the daughter of Sherman and Lydia Haines Wilson. She married Albert Whites. She later married James Hendee Feb. 9, 1922, in Peoria. He died Sept. 24, 1974.
She was a member of the Isabel Community Church and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star 634 of Lewistown. She taught schools in the Lewistown and Ipava areas.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Maralee) Burgard of Ipava; one grandson; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Johns of Marion, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, with Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
