Mrs. Chloie Mae Hoke, 78, of 321 S. Lafayette St., died suddenly Sunday afternoon at about 12:15 at McDonough District Hospital shortly after admission. She suffered a heart attack apparently while in a car enroute to the hospital and had been in the hospital recently for treatment.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Clugston Funeral Home with the Rev. DeWitt Ellinwood officiating. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoke was born Dec. 4, 1886 in Fulton County, to George and Julia Ette France Clemens. She had resided in the Ipava community prior to moving to Macomb in 1942. Mrs. Hoke had attended the old Normal College and was a member of the Table Grove Community Church, the Grandmothers Club, Homemakers Extension and McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.

She was married Dec. 11, 1915 to Ross Hoke, who died Sept. 8, 1950.

Surviving are a son, George Hoke, RR 2, Macomb; two grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew. Two sisters, Mrs. Susie Estella Winn and Mrs. Mary Marguerite Hess, are deceased.

Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday morning until time of services. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
