Homer H. Hamm Passed Away At Macomb Hospital

Homer H. Hamm, who took very suddenly ill at his home in Sheldons Grove, two weeks ago Tuesday, died at the Holmes hospital, Macomb at 5:30 o’clock Sunday evening. Death was due to brain fever. He was practically in an unconscious state from the very moment he was stricken.

Mr. Hamm was a well known farmer and stock feeder and has many friends throughout this section who mourn his sudden demise.

Mr. Hamm was born July 31, 1885 in Hickory township, Schuyler county, where he lived practically all his life. At the time of his death he was aged 40 years, 9 months and 21 days.

Mr. Hamm was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Sackman Dec. 26, 1912. To this union two children were born, Clifton, aged 12 and Joan, three months. Besides the wife and two children, he is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hamm of Astoria, three brothers, James, Os, and Petie of Sheldons Grove and two sisters, Mrs. M.W. Hughes of Astoria and Mrs. Stella Price of Peoria.

Mr. Hamm was a member of the Elks lodge of Beardstown.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Sheldons Grove church, conducted by Rev. John Davis. Interment in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
