Larry GuthrieLarry W. Guthrie, 81, of Macomb, formerly of Brooklyn, died at 5 p.m. Dec. 24, 2021, at the Macomb Post Acute Care Center in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Pike County, a son of Wayne and Ruth Evelyn Herron Guthrie.

Surviving are four children, Cheryl (and James) Cooper, Rose Guthrie and John (and Echo) Guthrie, all of Plymouth, and Randy (and Beulah) Guthrie of Sterling; several nieces and nephews, including his caregiver Annette Hawkins and companion Scott Parker of Industry; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Willie David Prater, who raised him; six sisters, Wilma Haenitsch, Mary Sutton, Helen Hendrix, Goldie Hedrick, Juanita Akers and Bernice; and two brothers, Cletus Hedrick and Clyde Hedrick.

He served in the United States Army. He worked for over 40 years as a cattleman for Lyn Eaton in Brooklyn. He also was a farmer and logger in Missouri.

Private graveside services will be held at the Littleton Cemetery in Littleton. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
