Juanita AkersJuanita J. Akers, 76, of Industry, formerly of Littleton, died at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19, 2021, at her home.

She was born Aug. 9, 1945, in Oakdale, a daughter of Willie David and Lizzie Turner Prater. She married William Henry “Hank” Akers on May 5, 1978, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are six children, Annette Hawkins (and partner Scott Parker) and Wayne Fawcett (and partner Carol Gemmings), both of Industry, Sandra Fischel of Roodhouse, Kimberly June (and Greg) Friedhoff of Clayton, Roger (and Rebecca) Akers of Littleton and Jeff Akers of Laurie, Mo.; one brother, Larry Guthrie of Macomb; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother who raised her Ruth Prater; five sisters, Wilma Haenitsch, Mary Sutton, Helen Hendrix, Goldie Irene Hedrick and Bernice; and two brothers, Cletus Hedrick and Clyde Hedrick.

She was a CNA in Lewistown and a homemaker. She also provided childcare for many families.

Private graveside services will be held at the Littleton Cemetery in Littleton. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Industry Fire Department.
