She was born Dec. 16, 1931, in Macomb, a daughter of Dale O. and Lenore Hammond Smith. She married Haley Griffith on June 11, 1960, in Springfield. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Daryl Griffith of Springfield, David (and Christine) Kline of Villa Grove and Stephen (and Naomi) Griffith of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter, Sarah (and Christopher) Rogers of Springfield; one brother, Larry L. Smith of Table Grove; one sister, Nancy D. (and Melvin) Voss of Champaign; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She graduated from VIT High School, class of 1949. She was a homemaker and taught dancing for 10 years at Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
She attended Real Life Church and was a member there since 1986.
Funeral services were held Monday at her church with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial was at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
