Ruth Griffith

Ruth Ina Griffith, 87, of Castle Rock, Colo., died Feb. 27, 2011.

She was born July 27, 1923, in Ipava, the daughter of Gladys and Elzie Diehl. She married Kenneth Griffith on Oct. 22, 1944. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Diehl.

Surviving are her daughters, Gloria (and Chuck) Wilson of Parker, Colo., and Karen (and Steven) Miller of Castle Rock, Colo.; one brother, Jeffrey (and Kathleen) Diehl; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Ipava Community High School.

After spending two years in business college, she accepted the position of administrative assistant to the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

She and her husband had moved to Denver, Colo., in 1952 from Table Grove.

In 1953, she was appointed as administrative assistant to President of American Stratigraphic Company and rose to the position of vice president in a career that spanned more than 30 years.

She was a charter member of Eastern Star.

After her retirement, she volunteered at Cherry Creek Nursing Home.

Services were held March 3, 2011, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A", 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, Colo.
