Julia M. Gilson, 91, of Galesburg died at 11:42 p.m. Nov. 26, 2006, at Seminary Manor.
She was born May 18, 1915, in Browning, a daughter of Homer H. and Edith Johnson Beam. She married Eugene M. Gilson on March 1, 1936, in Virginia. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean H. (and Roy) Shumard of Galesburg; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She worked in sales at Sears in Galesburg for 23 years, retiring in 1978. She graduated from Astoria High School.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She also was active in Sears Retirees Group.
Services were held Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Scott Grulke officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
