David Gobel

David GobelDavid L. Gobel, 52, of Browning died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Beardstown, a son of Virgil D. and Elsie J. Weishaar Gobel. He married Roberta Davis on Dec. 31, 1976 in Browning. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Browning; two sons, Chris (and Sara) and Michael, both of Browning; one daughter, Michelle Gobel of Beardstown; and two sisters, Patricia (and Dayle) Bucher of Bedford, Iowa, and Nancy (and Dan) Cox of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1972.

He was a member of the Browning Assembly Church and spent many hours working at his church. He was active with various youth groups for over 25 years.

He was a member of the Hickory-Kerton Fire Department and Modern Woodmen of America.

He worked for Heritage Enterprises as a licensed plumber and he and his wife owned and operated SuperClean and Rainbow laundromats in Beardstown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Browning Assembly Church with Kevin Sager officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in Sheldons Grove Cemetery.
