MARTHA ELIZABETH (LANNERY) GEIMAN

Mrs. Joe Geiman At End Of Life Funeral Saturday

Mrs. Joseph Geiman died at her home southwest of Astoria, Thursday, aged 42 years, 9 months, and 9 days. Death was due to cancer of the breast. She had been ill for sometime and her suffering was great, but she bore it with patience and fortitude.

Martha Elizabeth Lannery, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. E. R. Lannery, was born in Fulton Co., Illinois, June 4, 1887. She was united in marriage to Joseph Geiman, Dec. 26, 1925.

In early childhood, being raised in a Christian home and taught the principles of Christianity, she accepted the Christ as her personal Savior. As she grew into womanhood she drifted away, but the early training had left its imprint upon her heart and mind; and when the great trial of her affliction and suffering came, she was made to realize she would not be able to stand in the presence of her God without his redeeming grace. So a few weeks ago she renewed her covenant and by faith took Jesus as her comforter and helper and Savior.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, one daughter, two step-daughters, one step-son, her aged mother, Mrs. Lucinda Lannery of Sheldons Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Parrott of Sheldons Grove and Mrs. Alys Hughes of Vermont; three brothers, Richard Lannery of Astoria and Paul and R. B. Lannery of Sheldons Grove, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her father and one sister, Cora preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the U. B. Church, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. by the pastor, Rev. W. R. Seitzinger and interment in the South Fulton cemetery.
