Mrs. J. Grissom Called By Death Funeral Thursday

Mrs. Jerome Grissom died at her home in the southwest part of town Tuesday night at 10 o’clock, aged 87 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Grissom was born in the state of Virginia. After coming to Illinois many years ago, she was united in marriage to Jerome Grissom. Eight children were born to this union, namely: John, Edward, Orley of Astoria, H. T., H. D., J. W. and Mrs. C. R. Hagan of Fairfield, Iowa and Maud of Pekin.

Mrs. Grissom was a member of the Christian church. Her husband died about ten years ago.

Funeral services will be held Thursday forenoon at 10 o’clock at the Christian church, Rev. W. T. Nichols, officiating. Interment in the Astoria cemetery.

[Laura’s note: After comparing different documents on Ancestry.com, I am not sure if her maiden name was “Wonderly”, “Wonderlick” or “Wonderlich”. In addition, some records spelled her married name as “Grissom” and others as “Grisham”. Her husband's obit spells it "Wonderly".]
