William Ronald “Ronnie” Fowler, 87, of Plymouth died at 6:32 a.m. Oct. 18, 2023, at The Lamoine Assisted Living in Macomb.William Ronald “Ronnie” Fowler, 87, of Plymouth died at 6:32 a.m. Oct. 18, 2023, at The Lamoine Assisted Living in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 3, 1936, at his parent’s residence near Brooklyn, the son of Harrell Mike and Chloe Baker Fowler. He first married Carole Jean Chockley. He later married Janice Arlene Garlick on March 10, 1969, in Carrollton. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2012.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Warning; one son, Kevin Mickelson; one sister, Jenette Milby; and one niece, Angie Garlick Green.
Surviving are two sons, William Michael Fowler of Houston, Texas, and Richard A. “Rick” (and Cam) Fowler of Littleton; two sisters, Dianne (and Leroy) McClelland of Rushville and Kathy Garlick of Macomb; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Rushville High School. He retired after 35 years of employment at Caterpillar in Peoria. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union of Caterpillar.
Services were held Friday with Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his great-grandchildren’s education fund.
